In a meditative state, I envisioned my family members who had preceeded me and from whom I have derived my essential self.   I saw them now residing in a beautiful place, and the analogy to a garden took form. Soul Garden was the first manifestation of the idea; later, Garden of the Devas was a further exploration of the concept.
