H' Neshema (The Light of the Soul) is
the manifestation of nearly two years of grief and soul searching,
arising from the illness and passing of someone very close to me.
While one cannot deny the sorrow that one feels in losing another
so dear, for me the most extraordinary aspect was the radiance that
flowed forth during the worst of times. The piece celebrates the
strength of the spirit in a weakened body, and uses the house shape
to suggest the tired, haggard physical body which contains the angel,
the perfect soul seeking to move into the light. |
