I have long been interested in incorporating light into my art. There is, of course, an emphasis on the power of light within nearly all of the world's religions. Beginning with Garden of the Devas, I have experimented with creating work that doesn't merely light up as a process or a artifice, but uses the light as subject matter along with the other content of the piece. Garden of the Devas, which grew out of the earlier piece Soul Garden, is a testimony to those ancestors who continue to guide me through my life.
